Portion of East-Bound Montrose Road Closed; New Traffic Plan in Effect;

County Transportation officials will continue to monitor traffic flow and will make necessary adjustments and signal modifications

Beginning yesterday, Tuesday, December 11, eastbound Montrose Road, between Tildenwood Lane and East Jefferson Street, was temporarily closed. Eastbound traffic on Montrose Road is being diverted onto the new Montrose Parkway. In approximately one week, westbound traffic on Montrose Road will also be diverted and all traffic will use the Parkway for six months while Montrose Road is reconstructed and a new bridge over Old Farm Creek is built. The reconstruction of Montrose Road will eliminate flooding problems and provide a safe crossing for wildlife. The project should be completed in summer 2008.
