The Department of Health and Human Services, in cooperation with Montgomery College, is offering a “Food Security and Emergency Preparedness for Retail Food” conference on Wednesday, December 5 at Montgomery College’s Rockville campus. The goal of the conference is to introduce food service establishments to the concepts of food defense.
FDA officials will present information on intentional and unintentional contamination and how Montgomery County food facilities can protect their customers by protecting food supplies. Industry leaders will provide useful and real-world examples of preparing for and handling emergencies. In addition, information on the County’s new trans fat law will be provided.
The conference will be held from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Theater Arts Building. The $30 registration fee includes lunch and course materials.
