Police Seek Public’s Help in Locating
a Critically Missing Man from Silver Spring

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 3rd District Investigative Section are seeking the public’s help in locating a man reported missing from Silver Spring. He was last heard from this morning at approximately 7:30 AM when he accompanied his wife to a medical appointment at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Purushottan Umapati is described as an Asian male, age 71, 5’5” tall, 165 pounds, with brown eyes, and black hair. He suffers from Alzheimer’s and takes medication for another medical condition. He is familiar with local transportation routes.

Critically Missing Man from Silver Spring Located

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 3rd District Investigative Section were seeking the public’s help in locating a man reported missing from Silver Spring. He was last heard from yesterday morning at approximately 7:30 AM when he accompanied his wife to a medical appointment at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Purushottan Umapati is described as an Indian (Asian) male, age 71, 5’5” tall, 165 pounds, with brown eyes, and black hair. He suffers from Alzheimer’s and takes medication for another medical condition.

Mr. Umapati was located at approximately 12:30 PM today in good condition. He was located in Prince Georges County and has been reunited with his family.

Montgomery County Police and the family of Mr. Umapati would like to thank the media for their help in publicizing this missing person’s case.
