Two faculty members of the Lab School of Washington, DC will offer parents hands-on strategies they can use with children with nonverbal learning disabilities at a program on Non Verbal Learning Disabilities (NLD) to be held at the Rockville Library on Tuesday, October 9 at 6:30 p.m.
Presenters Judith Gillespie and Christine Chang will include -- from the point of view of an occupational therapist and speech language pathologist -- a brief review of the major characteristics of NLD, followed by a series of suggestions, activities, games and strategies in the area of social pragmatic and abstract language, auditory processing, linguistic executive functioning, motor skills, and visual spatial skills.
