A1 Beat:
  • A robbery occurred at the Chevy Chase Bank, 12228 Veirs Mill Road, Silver Spring on Tuesday, 7/20 at 5:30 p.m. The suspect went to a teller and passed her a note demanding money. No weapon was displayed or implied. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot. The suspect was later identified and arrested.
    Arrested: Male, age 28, of no fixed address

  • A theft from vehicle occurred on Friday, 7/16 between 2:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. in the 4400 block of Clearfield Road, Silver Spring. A window was broken and loose items were taken.

  • A theft from vehicle occurred on Friday, 7/16 between 12:01 a.m. and 5:50 a.m. in the 12200 block of Selfridge Road, Silver Spring. A window was broken and items were taken.

A2 Beat:
  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 5600 block of Dowgate Court, Rockville on Thursday, 7/15 at 5:48 p.m. The adult male victim and male suspect got into an argument. The suspect displayed a knife and when the victim grabbed for it, he was cut.
    Suspect: B/M, 30 yrs. old, 5’10”, 160 lbs.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 1200 block of Edmonston Drive, Rockville on Thursday, 7/15 between 2:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Unknown type entry; nothing was taken.
    Suspects: B/M, 17 yrs. old; B/F, 18 yrs. old.

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Autoworks Inc., 535 Southlawn Lane, Rockville on Friday, 7/16 at 4:28 a.m. Forced entry; property was taken.

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Rollin’s Supply, 668 Lofstrand Lane, Rockville on Monday, 7/19 at 8:54 p.m. Forced entry, but nothing was taken.

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Moyers Lawn Service, 401 Southlawn Lane, Rockville between 5:00 p.m. on Monday, 7/19 and 5:44 a.m. on Tuesday, 7/20. Forced entry; property was taken.

  • Three thefts from vehicles occurred overnight Tuesday, 7/13 into Wednesday, 7/14. The first vehicle had ‘unknown entry’; the other two had unlocked doors. The incidents occurred:

    • Between 10:00 p.m. and 9:58 a.m. in the 900 block of Maple Avenue, Rockville. Coins and a DVD were taken.
    • Between 10:32 p.m. and 1:00 a.m. at the Rockville Sports Complex, 60 Southlawn Court, Rockville. Purse and cell phone taken.
    • Between 7:00 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. in the 600 block of Denham Road, Rockville. Coins, portable DVD player, 20 DVD’s, & an iPod Nano were taken.

  • An attempted theft from vehicle occurred in the 1800 block of McAuliffe Drive, Rockville on Saturday, 7/17. Two suspects were seen trying vehicle door handles. The suspects did not gain entry into any vehicles. The suspects were found at the Twinbrook Shopping Center.
    Suspect: B /F, 14 yrs. old, 5’10”, 180 lbs., dreadlocks;
    Suspect: B/M, 9 yrs. old, 4’9”, 70 lbs.

A3 Beat:
  • A burglary occurred at Julius West MS, 651 Great Falls Road, Potomac on Sunday, 7/18 at 6:57 p.m. No forced entry. Nothing was taken.
    Arrested: Male, 12 yrs. old, from Rockville;
    Arrested: Male, 14 yrs. old, from Rockville;
    Arrested: Male, 14 yrs. old, from Rockville.

  • Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in this Potomac beat. All were from unlocked vehicles. Two occurred between Friday, 7/16 and Saturday, 7/17, three over the weekend from Friday, 7/16 to Sunday, 7/18 and one on Sunday, 7/18. All of the vehicles were searched and only loose items left in the vehicles were taken. Affected streets include:

    • 600 block of Great Falls Road
    • 700 block of Owens Street
    • 600 block of Smallwood Road
    • 700 block of Wilson Avenue
    • 500 block of Carr Avenue

  • A false impersonation occurred in the 700 block of Maple Avenue, Rockville on Tuesday, 7/13 at 9:00 p.m. The suspect knocked on the elderly female victim’s door, said he was from her alarm company and indicated that he needed to speak to her. The victim did not let him in, but went to get him a glass of water and the suspect walked off. She called her alarm company, who said they did not send someone to the house.
    Suspect: W/M, 30 yrs. old, 6’2”, 150 lbs.

A4 Beat:
  • There were no significant events in the beat during this period.

B1 Beat:
  • An attempted rape occurred in the 100 block of Rockville Pike, Rockville on Thursday, 7/15 at 12:20 a.m. The incident was between a victim and suspect known to one another.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 700 block of Monroe Street, Rockville between 9:30 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on Friday, 7/16. Unknown means of entry; property was taken.

  • Three thefts from vehicles occurred in this Rockville beat between 12:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday, 7/13. All had a window broken. Two occurred in the unit block of Fair Haven Court and the third in the 900 block of the same street. Taken: iPods and a stereo.

B2 Beat:
  • A rape occurred in the 300 block of Fallsgrove Drive, Rockville between 11:00 p.m. on Friday, 7/16 and 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, 7/17. The adult female victim went to two parties with the suspect.
    Suspect: Unk M, possibly Hispanic, curly hair, tall, ‘buff’, possibly wore glasses.

  • A theft from vehicle occurred in the 11700 block of Devilwood Court, Potomac on Monday, 7/12 at 10:22 p.m. The victim saw the suspects run from her unlocked vehicle and discovered her laptop computer missing.
    Suspect: W/F, 16-17 yrs. old, 6’;
    Suspect: W/M, 16-17 yrs. old, 5’10”, muscular.

B3 Beat:
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 800 block of Warde Terrace, Potomac on Tuesday, 7/20 between 11:45 a.m. and 12:12 p.m. Forced entry; property was taken.
    Suspect: B/M, 6’2”, 180 lbs., black & white striped collared shirt, blue Adidas pants with stripes down the side, tennis shoes.

  • A suspicious situation occurred at the Tally Ho Swim Club, 8650 Bells Mill Road, Potomac on Friday, 7/16 at 6:00 p.m. An employee saw the suspect taking pictures & videos of children playing in the pool. The suspect claimed that he was with a newspaper/advertising agency.
    Suspect: W/M, 35-40 yrs. old, 5’10”, 150-160 lbs., balding grey hair, blue button down shirt, jeans.

B4 Beat:
  • Two burglaries occurred at the Wesleigh Pool, 14900 Dufief Mill Road, North Potomac between Monday, 7/12 and Wednesday, 7/14. The unknown suspect(s) used a picnic table to climb over the fence and broke a rear window on the deck. Nothing was taken, but property was vandalized.
