  • A residential burglary occurred in the 2600 block of East West Highway, Chevy Chase on Thursday, 7/15 between 11:45 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Forced entry; property was taken.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 7300 block of Lynnhurst Street, Chevy Chase an an unknown time between Saturday, 7/17 and Sunday, 7/18. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

D2 Beat:
  • An indecent exposure incident occurred at the Bethesda Library, 7400 Arlington Road, Bethesda on Thursday, 7/15 at approximately 7:15 p.m. The juvenile victim and her mother were at the library when the victim looked up to see the suspect standing at the end of the aisle with his shorts pulled up, exposing himself. She reported the incident and the suspect was apprehended the following day at the library.
    Arrested: Male, 42, no fixed address.

D3 Beat:
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 9600 block of Connecticut Avenue, Kensington on Thursday, 7/15 between noon and 12:20 p.m. Forced entry; nothing was taken.

  • A residential burglary was reported in the 4500 block of Woodfield Road, Kensington on Sunday, 7/18 at 1:22 p.m. Unknown type entry; unknown if property was taken.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 4300 block of Saul Road, Kensington on Monday, 7/19 between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. No forced entry. Property was taken.

  • Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred between Monday, 7/12 and Thursday, 7/15 in this Kensington beat. One victim noted that the door lock had been tampered with; the rest were entered without force. One vehicle had the tail lights removed; the rest incurred the theft of cash and small electronics (laptops, iPods, GPS units.) No suspects were seen. Affected streets include:

    • 9700 block of Bellevue Drive
    • 3900 block of Decatur Avenue
    • 4300 block of Carriage Court

  • A theft from a construction site occurred in the 9200 block of Kensington Parkway, Chevy Chase on Thursday, 7/15 between 6:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Unknown type entry; property was taken.

  • A commercial burglary occurred at the Getty Gas Station, 5151 River Road, Bethesda on Tuesday, 7/20 at approximately 2:20 a.m. Forced entry; property was taken.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 5000 block of Newport Avenue, Bethesda overnight from Tuesday, 7/13 into Wednesday, 7/14. No forced entry. Property was taken.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 7600 block of Arden Road, Cabin John sometime between Thursday, 7/15 and Friday, 7/16. no forced entry; property was taken.

E2 Beat:
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 8600 block of Grant Street, Bethesda on Sunday, 7/18 between 10:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Unknown type entry. Property was taken.

  • Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred in this Bethesda beat this week, all but one overnight from Thursday, 7/15 into Friday, 7/16. Entry methods varied: half were found with broken windows; half had been left unlocked. Cash and small electronics (GPS, iPods, laptops etc.) were reported taken. Affected streets included:

    • 5400 Alta Vista
    • 9400 Spruce Tree Circle

E3 Beat:
  • An aggravated assault occurred in the 11400 block of Old Georgetown Road, Rockville on Monday, 7/12 at 3:00 a.m. The female victim was assaulted by a relative. During the dispute, the suspect punched the victim causing injury to her face.
    Suspect: A/M, 41, 5’6”, 170 lbs.

  • A theft from vehicle occurred in the 10600 block of Westlake Drive, Bethesda on Thursday, 7/15 between 3:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The victim’s purse was taken from her unlocked vehicle as it was parked at Cabin John Regional Park.
    Suspect: H/M;
    Vehicle: maroon van with war of 1812 vanity tag.

E4 Beat:
  • A homicide occurred at The Art Warehouse, 12015 Nebel Street, Rockville. The adult female victim who was originally reported as a missing person was found deceased on Monday, 7/19 at 7:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Farragut Street in Washington, D.C. The responsible suspect was identified and arrested.
    Arrested: Male, 35, from Kensington.

  • A commercial burglary occurred at Merchant’s Tire & Auto, 5646 Randall Road, Rockville on Wednesday, 7/14 at 11:15 p.m. No forced entry; property was taken.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 5100 block of King Charles Way, Bethesda on Wednesday, 7/14 between 10:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Unknown type entry. Property was taken.
