Liquor Control Provides Fraudulent ID Detection Training
The Montgomery County Department of Liquor Control (DLC) is offering a free Fraudulent ID Detection Seminar designed to educate businesses licensed to sell/serve alcohol in Montgomery County. The free training will be held on Monday, June 25, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Building, One Veterans Place. The seminar will address techniques and tools to identify counterfeit driver’s licenses and will review Maryland laws pertaining to fraudulent ID cases.
“In order for a business to create an effective ID policy, they have to be able to identify fake ID trends, different types of IDs, and what’s acceptable in the State of Maryland,” said Kathie Durbin, DLC division chief. “Our goal is to educate the person carding individuals at the door and at the point of sale on how to detect a fake ID. We are seeing an influx of IDs that will even fool electronic scanners, but a well trained professional will know how to identify them.” < ...more
