Free Exhibits Feature Local Artists at Glenview

Rockville, Md., June 18, 2012 - The Glenview Mansion Art Gallery at Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive will host two free shows in July and August. An exhibit of sculpture and mixed media will be on display from Sunday, July 1, to Tuesday, July 31. The August show, featuring a painter and a screen printer, runs August 5 to September 4.

The July art show will showcase the work of Fran Abrams, who works with polymer clay, Elizabeth Steel, a stone sculptor, and the Waxy Women, who create mixed media art. In August, the Mansion will exhibit the work of Eric Garner and Maggie Gourlay.

Each show opens with a chance to meet the artists at a free community reception from 1:30-3:30 p.m. featuring a musical performance. On Sunday, July 1, Guitarist and composer Michael DeLalla will perform from 2-3 p.m., and on Sunday, August 5, Barbara Martin, a versatile jazz and blues singer-songwriter, will give a performance at 2 p.m.

Admission to the gallery is free. Gallery hours are Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and closed on official City holidays. Glenview Mansion Art Gallery is wheelchair accessible.
