Default County-Wide Continuing Increase in Theft from Vehicles

Detectives from all six of the Montgomery County Police Investigative Sections are continuing to investigate thefts from vehicles that have occurred throughout the county. The 2nd District is still seeing almost double the number of incidents compared to the other five districts, although all districts are experiencing an increase.

Various items are taken from the vehicles, such as GPS systems, iPods, cell phones, satellite radios, purses, cash, and credit cards. The following is a breakdown by district of how many items were stolen from vehicles to date since the beginning of the year:

1st District 89 items stolen
2nd District 165 items stolen
3rd District 84 items stolen
4th District 80 items stolen
5th District 64 items stolen
6th District 77 items stolen
