Gaithersburg Police Arrest Three
Suspects for Strong Arm Robbery
Gaithersburg, MD (July 30, 2012). Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Investigative Section arrested 24-year-old Jean Marcel Bai of North Summit Avenue in Gaithersburg, MD, 23-year-old Tidiane Bamba of no fixed address, and 22-year-old Yekeh Pratt of North Summit Avenue. All three suspects were charged with robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, second degree assault, conspiracy to commit second degree assault, theft less than $1,000 and conspiracy to commit theft less than $1,000.
On July 14, 2012 at 1:21 a.m., the victim walked into the Gaithersburg Police station located at 14 Fulks Corner Avenue to report a strong arm robbery that occurred earlier in the area of Victory Farm Road and Saybrooke Oaks Boulevard. On July 13, 2012 at 11:30 p.m., the victim stated that as he walking, he was approached by three unknown black males who engaged in conversation with him. After they concluded with their brief encounter, the suspects walked away from the victim and then turned around, came back and physically assaulted him and then removed his personal property. The unknown males were described as the following; suspect one was a black male with a dark complexion, 5’08” – 5’11”, thin build with dreadlocks. He was last seen with dark pants and no shirt. Suspect two was a black male, dark complexion, 6’00” – 6’02”, 180-190 lbs, with brown hair and eyes and a muscular build. Suspect three was a black male, dark complexion, 5’07”, and 165 lbs.
During the investigation, Bai, Bamba and Pratt were developed as suspects. Bai and Bamba are currently being held at the Montgomery County Detention Center. Pratt was released on a $25,000 bond.
