Rockville Police Charge Two in Burglary
ROCKVILLE, Md., May 16, 2012 - The Rockville City Police Department arrested and charged two men in connection with a daytime residential burglary that took place on Tuesday, May 15, in the 1500 block of West Kersey Lane.
Joshua R Evans, age 18, of Gaithersburg, Md., and Alexander Patrick Jeffrey, age 24, of Germantown, Md., were both charged with attempted first degree burglary and conspiracy to commit first degree burglary. Evans was also charged with malicious destruction of property.
On Tuesday, May 15, at approximately 3:30 p.m. Rockville City Police units responded to the 1500 block of West Kersey Lane for the report of a burglary in progress. Investigation revealed an attempt to break a rear window of the victim's home.
Responding officers located Jeffrey sitting in a vehicle near the victim's residence. He was immediately taken into custody, while Evans fled the scene on foot. A police perimeter was established to contain Evans and K-9 began an extensive search of the area. Several officers positioned on the perimeter noticed a subject, later determined to be Evans, near the intersection of Dunster Road and Falls Road. He was taken into custody without further incident.
