Montgomery County Receives National Recognition for its Technology Solutions and Innovations

The Public Technology Institute (PTI) has honored Montgomery County with two Technology Solutions and Innovations awards. The awards are for the following programs: First, in the Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) award category, “On-Line Bikeways Map Viewer”; and, second, in the Web and e-Government award category, “Vehicle Accident Report Purchase System.”

The On-Line Bikeways Map Viewer is a collaborative effort between the County’s departments of Technology Services (DTS) and Transportation. The County bicycling map application can be accessed on the internet at http://bikemap.montgomerycountymd.gov. A poster-size PDF of the printed version of the map is also available for download on the County’s web site at http://www.montgomerycountymd.gov/content/gis/bikeways.asp.
