Late Absentee Ballot Voting Procedures
Voters who miss the deadline to apply for an absentee ballot by mail for the Primary Election on April 3, may apply in person for a late absentee ballot through April 3.
If you are unable to vote in person on Election Day, and are unable to vote at one of the five Early Voting Centers between, you may come to the elections office in Gaithersburg for a late absentee ballot through Election Day. The office will be open March 26 – 29 from 8:30 a.m. – 8 p.m., on Friday, March 30, from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., on Saturday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., on April 2 from 8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., and on Tuesday, April 3, from 7 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Voters who cannot come in person to the office may designate another person as their agent to obtain the application. For information on designating an agent, please contact the Absentee Office. After March 28 voters may choose to download an application from the website –
www.777vote.org or
www.montgomerycountymd.gov/elections.
The elections office is located at 18753 N. Frederick Avenue, Suite 210, Gaithersburg, which is about one and one-half mile north of Montgomery Village Avenue.
Once you receive your absentee ballot, consider the following:
- Do not allow anyone to assist you in voting unless it is a family member, trusted family friend, or Board of Elections’ representative;
- Do not allow anyone else to fill out your ballot;
- Do not give your ballot to a stranger – mail it yourself; and finally
- Report any suspicious calls or circumstances to the State Attorney’s Office (410-576-6300 or 1-888-743-0023 toll free in Maryland and via TDD at 410-576-6372).
