Suspects Arrested for Possession
of Marijuana and Distribution
Gaithersburg, MD (March 22, 2012). Detectives from the Gaithersburg Police Street Crimes Unit arrested 23-year-old, Matthew Warren Dellinger of Catherdral Street in Annapolis, MD and 23-year- old, Nicholas Michael Modaressi of Upshire Circle in Gaithersburg, MD on March 20, 2012. Dellinger has been charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance and possession of controlled paraphernalia. Modaressi has been charged with distribution of a controlled dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute a controlled dangerous substance, possession of controlled dangerous substance- marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance-not marijuana and possession of controlled dangerous substance paraphernalia.
During the months of February and March, detectives received complaints from citizens and information from fellow officers about possible drug activity in the Muddy Branch area. Based on the information, officers conducted surveillance operations in the area and on March 20, 2012, observed a drug transaction. The officers followed a white Lincoln and conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, approximately 2 lbs. of marijuana was discovered. The driver, Matthew Warren Dellinger, was placed under arrest and charged.
During the investigation, Modaressi was developed as a second suspect. Search of Modaressi’s residence produced additional quantities of marijuana, paraphernalia and approximately $12,000 in U.S. currency. Modaressi was then arrested and charged.
Dellinger and Modaressi are currently released from the Montgomery County Detention Center. Dellinger was released on recognizance and Modaressi was released on a $75,000 bond.
