Rockville Seeks Parade Entries and Military
Personnel for Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade
Rockville, Md., March 19 - Rockville is seeking military personnel, individuals and groups to participate in its annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade, Monday, May 28.
Community groups and individuals are invited to apply to participate in the annual Memorial Day parade. Veterans and service organizations, marching bands, dance teams, clowns, floats and others are eligible. There is no cost to participate. The deadline to apply for the parade is Friday, April 16. Applications are available at
www.rockvillemd.gov/events/hth.
Military personnel are sought to speak and perform ceremonial duties. City of Rockville and Montgomery County residents who have formerly or who currently serve in the United States military are eligible. In order to be considered, the speaker must be comfortable speaking in public and will have to prepare a five- to seven-minute speech about their experience in the armed forces and what it meant to them, and honor those who have also served in the armed forces. Assistance with the speech is available if necessary.
