Seminar: Thursday, March 15, at Brooke Grove Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, 18131 Slade School Road, on the Sandy Spring campus of Brooke Grove Retirement Village. This FREE seminar presented by humor therapist and author Elaine Lundberg will educate, motivate and help anyone concerned with wellness and stress management. Participants should come prepared to laugh and will learn why and how to use positive humor in their life. It's never to late to lighten up! A Great Show for a Great Cause: Hospice Caring, Inc. , a non-medical hospice, is honored to have been chosen as the Hexagon revue charity beneficiary for its 2012 season performances of "I Get No Kick From Campaign!". Hexagon is "Washington's only original political satirical musical comedy review." Education Forums: Superintendent Joshua Starr will hold his first spring forum—devoted to the topic of English Language Learners—on Monday, March 12, 7 p.m., at John F. Kennedy High School, 1901 Randolph Road in Silver Spring. This is the first of four forums that Dr. Starr will hold throughout the spring, each focusing on a different important educational topic. The forums will provide an opportunity for parents, staff, and the community to hear about the latest trends and research, find out what’s happening in our schools, and share their thoughts with the superintendent, guest panelists, and other participants. Each meeting will include a brief panel presentation followed by small-group discussion. The remaining forums are:Thursday, March 22, Col. Zadok Magruder High School—Gifted Education; Monday, April 16, Seneca Valley High School—Special Education; Thursday, May 10, Walt Whitman High School—Social and Emotional Learning.
