Learn About Planning, Zoning and
Development Review in Rockville
Free Planning Academy Session Open to Public
ROCKVILLE, MD., March 6- The City of Rockville will host a Planning Academy for residents interested in learning more about zoning, planning and the development review process in the community. The free session will happen Saturday, March 24, from 10 a.m. to noon at Rockville City Hall, 111 Maryland Avenue.
Planning Academy participants will learn:
- How residents can participate in the development review process;
- The roles and responsibilities of developers, the government and the public in the development process;
- How the Comprehensive Master Plan sets a framework for community development;
- How the City's Zoning Ordinance and regulations reflect the master plan; and
- How development applications and plans are reviewed.
The subject matter will be covered through interactive exercises, presentations by City staff, and real life examples.
