Arrest Made in Germantown Attempted Homicide and Kidnapping Detectives from the Montgomery County Police 5th / 6th District Investigative Section have made an arrest in a kidnapping and attempted murder of a 31-year-old male victim. On January 22nd at approximately 8:00 a.m., 6th District officers responded to a remote location in the woods on Game Preserve Road in Gaithersburg for the report of a robbery. Once on the scene they spoke to the victim who told them he had been forced at gunpoint from his home in the 19800 block of Crystal Rock Drive in Germantown. The suspects ordered him into a vehicle and drove to an ATM machine where the victim was forced to withdraw an undisclosed amount of currency. Once the suspects had the currency, they drove the victim to the remote area on Game Preserve Road and forced him, again at gunpoint, to walk into the woods. Fearing for his life, the victim physically fought with the suspects. One of the suspects shot at the victim at which time he feigned injury and the suspects fled the scene. The victim suffered only minor scratches during the incident. Through investigation, one suspect was identified as Quinnton Brown, age 24, of the 8900 block of Footed Ridge, Columbia, Maryland. Brown and the victim are known to each other. An arrest warrant was issued charging him with attempted first degree murder, kidnapping, robbery, use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence, use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, reckless endangerment and first degree assault. On January 27th Brown was located and arrested in York, Pennsylvania. He is currently being held on $1 million bond awaiting an extradition hearing which will be held on February 15th. Detectives continue to investigate the crime and are attempting to identify the remaining suspects.
