Homicide 1 - January 28, 2012
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section continue to investigate a death that occurred on January 28 in the 11400 block of July Drive in the White Oak area of Silver Spring. Detectives have charged Henry Gordon Hutchins, 68 years old, with first-degree murder relating to the homicide of Carol Frances Carter, 62 years old.

Homicide 2 - March 7, 2012
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are investigating a shooting death that occurred this afternoon in Aspen Hill. Detectives are investigating this death as a homicide.
Today, at approximately 3:20 p.m., 4th District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to a residence in the 13200 block of Superior Street for a report of a shooting. Upon arriving, officers discovered a young adult male deceased as a result of a gunshot wound.
Investigation revealed that three young adult males were present inside the residence when the shooting occurred. For reasons still under investigation, one of the males was shot. After the shooting, one male left the scene, and another male remained in the residence and summoned assistance.

Homicide 3 - March 13, 2012
The Montgomery County Police Department Major Crimes Division is currently investigating the homicide of a female victim that occurred this morning at approximately 9:39 a.m. in the area of Connecticut Avenue and Knowles Avenue in Kensington.
At this time, detectives are releasing biographical information and a photograph of a possible suspect in this morning’s homicide. Police are actively looking for this suspect and believe he may be on foot. Police urge anyone who sees this suspect to call 911 and not to approach the suspect as police believe he may be armed with a firearm.

Homicide 4 - May 5, 2012
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are investigating the homicide of a 47-year-old woman in the 8600 block of Garland Avenue. The victim has been identified as Ana Ayala of that address.
This morning at 8:15 a.m., officers from the 3rd District and Fire/Rescue units responded to a parking lot in the 8600 block of Garland Avenue in Silver Spring for the report of an assault in progress. Responding units found Ayala in the front passenger seat of a vehicle. She was suffering from apparent stab wounds. She was transported to MedStar where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Homicide 5 - May 6, 2012
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are investigating the homicide of a 23-year-old male at an apartment in the 7900 block of Spiceberry Circle in Gaithersburg as a domestic-related homicide. The suspect, a 55-year-old male, is the victim’s father.
Yesterday evening (May 5) at approximately 8:44 p.m., officers from the 6th District and Fire/Rescue units responded to an apartment in the 7900 block of Spiceberry Circle for the report of a shooting that just occurred. Responding units found the victim (the son) suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The suspect (the father) remained on scene and is in police custody at this time.

Homicide 6 - May 20, 2012
At approximately 10:36 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to an apartment in the 13600 block of Colgate Way in Silver Spring for a missing person call. Responding officers met with a family member and made entry into the apartment. Officers found the male and female deceased and both victims had evidence of trauma to their bodies. Officers also located a suicide note in the apartment.
Both victims have been transported to Baltimore where the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct autopsies to determine the cause and manner of death for each victim.

Homicide 7 - June 7, 2012
At approximately 4:50 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to an apartment in the 1100 block of East-West Highway for a check the welfare call; a family member could not get in touch with the victim. Responding officers made entry into the apartment and found the victim deceased. The male had suffered at least one apparent gunshot wound.
The victim has been transported to Baltimore where the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
The circumstances that led to this death are still under investigation.

Homicide 8 - July 3, 2012
At approximately 2:29 p.m., 3rd District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the call for a stabbing that had just occurred in an apartment at 8060 13th Street in Silver Spring. Upon arrival they found Thomas Harvey suffering from apparent stab wounds. Multiple witnesses reported seeing the suspect, Hugo Rodriguez, fleeing the scene still armed with a knife. A lookout was placed and officers stopped Rodriguez nearby on foot. The knife was recovered in a storm drain a short distance away from where Rodriguez was detained. Harvey, from an unconfirmed address, was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

Homicide 9 - September 22, 2012
At 3:31 a.m., 4th District officers responded to the 2200 block of Georgian Way in Wheaton for the report of a domestic assault that had just occurred. Responding officers found 37-year-old Marcello Rocio Nikaury deceased in the stairwell of the apartment building where she resided.
Detectives determined that 31-year-old Martire Puente-Fulcar had a relationship with Nikaury and lived in the apartment with her and three children. Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant charging him with first degree murder.

Homicide 10 - December 3, 2012
Shortly after midnight, officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department and the Montgomery County 6th District responded to a report of a shooting on Whetstone Drive in Gaithersburg. Fire/Rescue units also responded. Officers first on the scene were directed to an apartment where they found an unresponsive adult male suffering from trauma to his body. Fire/Rescue personnel quickly determined that the victim had succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was in the apartment with at least another male when multiple suspects entered the apartment and separated the two men. After a brief amount of time, the suspects were heard arguing with the victim and then left the apartment. The surviving male found the injured victim inside the apartment and called police.

Homicide 11 - December 5, 2012
At 1:17 a.m., police from Gaithersburg and the 6th District, along with Fire/Rescue personnel, responded for the report of a pedestrian struck on W. Diamond Avenue in Gaithersburg. Responding officers located the deceased victim near 211 W. Diamond Avenue and contacted the surviving victim a short distance away. The 54-year-old surviving victim reported to officers that he and his brother, the deceased victim, were given a ride by subjects in a black Honda Civic earlier in the morning. They had been dropped near the Gaitherstown Plaza at Route 355 and Chestnut Street. As the two victims were walking west on W. Diamond Avenue, they were struck by a black Honda Civic. The surviving victim reported that he believes it was the same vehicle that he had been riding in a few minutes earlier.

Homicide 12 - December 7, 2012
At approximately 3:45 p.m. today, officers from the 3rd District responded to an apartment in the 11400 block of July Drive in the White Oak area of Silver Spring for the report of a shooting. Officers located the victim deceased with evidence of trauma to his body.
Detectives are investigating witness accounts that two black males were seen leaving the scene after the incident. Detectives are working to confirm a more detailed description of the two males.

Homicide 13 - December 11, 2012
On Monday, December 10, at approximately 9:56 p.m., 3rd District officers responded to the area of 13920 Castle Boulevard for the sound of shots that had just occurred. When officers arrived a few minutes later, they located a deceased male on a paved path to the rear of the Castle Boulevard address. The male subject had trauma to his body.
The identity and age of the victim cannot be confirmed at this time but will be released after next-of-kin is notified. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy in Baltimore to determine the cause of death.

Homicide 14 - December 16, 2012
At 2:52 a.m., 4th District officers and Fire/Rescue personnel responded to the report of a shooting in the 3700 block of Bel Pre Road. At the scene, officers located the victim who was suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
