D1 Beat:

• Two thefts were reported this week in this Chevy Chase beat. On the afternoon of Tuesday, 1/3, in the 3500 block of Leland Street property was taken from outside. Property was also taken from outside in the 3700 block of Leland Street, sometime overnight from Friday, 1/6 to Saturday, 1/7.


D2 Beat:

• Two residential burglaries occurred sometime between Monday, 1/2 and Saturday, 1/7 in the Chevy Chase area.
  • In the 4800 block of Wellington Drive. Forced entry; unknown whether anything taken.
  • In the 7100 block of 44th Street. Forced entry; property taken.

D3 Beat:

• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 4200 block of Glenrose Street, Kensington sometime between the morning of Wednesday, 1/4 and the morning of Thursday, 1/5. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.

• A residential burglary occurred in the 3900 block of Dresden Street, Kensington sometime between Saturday, 1/7 and Sunday, 1/8. No forced entry; property taken.

• Three thefts from vehicles occurred on Sunday, 1/8 at approximately 3:30 a.m. Two vehicles in the 3500 block of Farragut Avenue and a third vehicle in the 3600 block of Dupont Avenue – all in Kensington – were entered and searched. An arrest was made.
Arrested: Male, 21, from Silver Spring.

• A theft occurred in the 9000 block of Jones Mill Road, Chevy Chase sometime between Tuesday, 1/3 and Friday, 1/6. Property was taken from outside the residence.


E1 Beat:

• A commercial burglary occurred at Friendship Dental Group, 4500 North Park Avenue, Chevy Chase on Wednesday, 1/4 at approximately 8:15 a.m. Unknown entry; nothing taken.
Suspect: B/M, 30-40, 6’-6’2”, wearing black gloves and a red/white knit hat.

• A commercial burglary occurred at the WDCA TV Building, 5202 River Road, Bethesda sometime overnight between Sunday, 1/8 and Monday, 1/9. No forced entry; property taken.

• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 7000 block of River Road, Bethesda on Thursday, 1/4 at approximately 2:00 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
Arrested: Male, 46, from Ft. Washington.

• Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred overnight between Monday, 1/2 and Tuesday, 1/3 in the Cabin John area. All of the vehicles affected had been left unlocked. Items taken included: cash, cell phones, laptops, and an antique shotgun. Affected streets included: the 6500 block of 78th Street, 7400 and 7500 blocks of Arden Road, 6500 block of 76th Street, unit blocks of Ericsson Road, Carver Road, Russell Road, Thorne Road, McKay Circle, & Webb Road, 7700 block of Tomlinson Avenue and the 6600 block of Persimmon Tree Road.

• A theft occurred in the 5200 block of Carlton Street, Bethesda overnight from Tuesday, 1/3 to Thursday, 1/4. Property was taken from outside the residence.


E2 Beat:

• A residential burglary occurred in the 9800 block of Singleton Drive, Bethesda between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, 1/3. Forced entry; property taken.

• A residential burglary occurred in the 7800 block of Overhill Road, Bethesda at approximately 1:10 p.m. on Tuesday, 1/3. Forced entry; nothing taken.
Arrested: Male, 46, from Ft. Washington


E3 Beat:

• No significant activity to report.


E4 Beat:

• A commercial burglary occurred at Barry’s Magic Shop, 5544 Nicholson Lane, Bethesda on Sunday, 1/9 at 9:45 p.m. Forced entry; property taken.
Arrested: Male, 19, no fixed address.

• An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 5800 block of Tudor Lane, Rockville on Saturday, 1/7 between 5:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Attempted forced entry; nothing taken.
