Suspect Sought for Sexual Assault in Germantown an Online Tip or send the police a Text TipUpdated Information Related Assaults: June 19, 2010 August 21, 2010 Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section are investigating a sexual assault that occurred this morning in Germantown that may be linked to previous sexual assaults. At approximately 12:58 a.m., 5th District officers responded to an apartment in the 20300 block of Beaconfield Terrace in Germantown for the report of an attempted rape that had just occurred. The preliminary investigation revealed that the 68-year-old female victim was in her bed when the male suspect entered her apartment and sexually assaulted her. After the assault, the suspect fled and the victim contacted police. Suspect Still at Large The suspect is described as a black male, 5’10” tall, weighing approximately 145 pounds. He appeared to be 16 to 25 years old and had no facial hair. At the time of the assault he was wearing a dark shirt and dark pants. The 68-year-old resident was previously the victim of a rape on June 19, 2010, under similar circumstances and reported to investigators that she believes the same suspect is responsible for both assaults. Additionally, on August 21, 2010, an 86-year-old woman reported being raped in her residence at the Churchill Senior Living Center located at 21000 Father Hurley Boulevard in Germantown . That address is across the street from the two events that occurred on Beaconfield Terrace. The August 21, 2010 assault was reported at 4:15 a.m. via a Life Alert call from that location. The responding officers learned that an 86-year-old woman, who lived in the assisted living complex, had been the victim of a physical and sexual assault. At that time the investigation revealed that the unknown male suspect had gained entry through an unlocked window. The victim was in bed at the time of the assault, and the suspect fled out the window at the conclusion of the assault. The victim was transported to an area hospital for medical treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect for that event was described as a black male, between the ages of 18 and 25 years old, 5’8” to 5’9” tall, with a thin build, and no facial hair. He was wearing black jeans at the time of the assault. It was determined that the previous June and August incidents were committed by the same suspect. Investigators believe that the same suspect may be responsible for today’s assault but it is too early in the investigation for that to be confirmed. Anyone who may have information about any of these sexual assaults is asked to call the Major Crimes Division – Homicide/Sex Section at 240.773.5070.
