Detectives Investigate Robbery and
Attempted Sexual Assault in Forest Glen

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division - Homicide/Section Section are investigating a strong-arm robbery and attempted sexual assault that occurred on Wednesday, July 7 in the Forest Glen area of Silver Spring.

On July 7 at approximately 10:44 p.m. 3rd District officers responded to the Silver Spring home of the adult female victim of a robbery and attempted sexual assault that had occurred earlier. The preliminary investigation revealed that the 25-year-old woman had been walking from the Forest Glen Metro station on Medical Park Drive when an unknown male approached her from behind and tackled her to the ground. The suspect demanded the victim’s property, and then attempted to sexually assault her. The victim resisted and the suspect fled on foot towards Georgia Avenue after he obtained property from her. She returned home and police were called. She was transported to an area hospital for a check up.

Suspect Still at Large

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 16 and 18, 5’9” to 5’11” tall, and weighing between 140 and 150 pounds. At the time of the attack he was wearing a large gray tee shirt, pants possibly jeans, multi-colored flannel boxers, and a red baseball cap. He was clean-shaven and believed to be wearing earrings.
