Metrobus Passenger Shot

Metrobus operator reports fight between bus patrons leads to shooting

For immediate release: May 5, 2010

A Metrobus operator reported at 5:11 p.m. today that a male passenger was shot by another male passenger on board bus 2372 at 18th Street and Minnesota Avenue. The bus was operating a U2 route when the incident occurred.

According to Metro Transit Police, on scene, the victim, a minor, was shot in the left wrist and right side and was medevaced to Washington Hospital Center with what appears to be life-threatening injuries.

The assailant reportedly fled after the shooting. The Metropolitan Police Department is on scene and leading the investigation.
