Leggett to convene summit on future of libraries
County Executive Isiah Leggett and Montgomery County Public Libraries Director Parker Hamilton will present a Summit on the Future of Libraries.
Two keynote speakers – Tim Mack, president of the World Future Society, and Stephen Abram, vice-president Innovation for SirsiDynix/chief strategist for SirsiDynix Institute – will set the stage with their look at libraries of the future. Following their talks, both speakers will participate in an open dialogue with attendees. During separate breakout sessions, participants will then help develop recommendations that will serve as future planning guidelines for Montgomery County Public Libraries in the areas of Technology, Buildings and Strategic Planning.
