• There was no significant activity reported.


J2 Beat:

• An aggravated assault (gunshot, not life-threatening) occurred on Saturday, 8/15 at 9:45 p.m. in the 20200 block of Georgia Avenue in Brookeville. The victim and suspect are known to one another.
Arrested: Male, 37 yrs. old, from Odenton, Maryland

• An attempted residential burglary occurred on Thursday, 8/13 at 1:06 a.m. in the 3700 block of Monitor Place in Olney. No forced entry, nothing taken.

• Nine of the ten thefts from vehicles occurred overnight Friday, 8/14 into Saturday, 8/15 in the 4200 block of Sandcastle Lane, the 17600 block of Longview Lane, the 4200 block of Stafford Road, and the 4400 block of Cannes Lane in Olney. One theft from vehicle occurred on Tuesday, 8/11 between 10:00 a.m. It appears that all the targeted vehicles were unlocked and GPS units, a laptop, iPod, phone chargers, golf clubs, and cash were taken.


K1 Beat:

• An armed street robbery occurred on Thursday, 8/13 at 9:30 p.m. in a parking lot at the Cinnamon Run complex. The juvenile male victim parked his car. The suspects rushed the victims and demanded cash and property. A handgun was displayed and the victim was struck before having his property taken.
Suspects: Two B/M’s, 16 -17, one shaved head, one with dreadlocks.

An armed street robbery (gun) occurred on Friday, 8/14 at 11:45 p.m. in the parking lot in the 3100 block of Hewitt Avenue in Aspen Hill. The suspects were identified and one was arrested. Arrested: Male, 27 yrs. old, from Aspen Hill, Maryland.

• An assault (shooting incident) occurred on Saturday, 8/15 at 8:50 p.m. at Bel Pre Road and Parker Farm Way in Aspen Hill. This incident is believed to be drug-related.

• A burglary occurred on Thursday, 8/13 at 8:20 p.m. at Strathmore Elementary, 3200 Beaverwood Lane in Aspen Hill. Three local juveniles were arrested.
Arrested: Three males, all age 14, of unconfirmed addresses


K2 Beat:

• A burglary occurred on Friday, 8/14 between 7:00 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. at Weller Road Elementary at 3301 Weller Road in Glenmont. Forced entry. Nothing was taken.

• A residential burglary occurred on Saturday, 8/15 before 4:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of Sheraton Street in Glenmont. Unknown entry, property taken. Suspects found and arrested.
Arrested: Male, 24 yrs. old, from Glenmont, Maryland; Female, 32 yrs. old, from Wheaton, Maryland.


L1 Beat:

• A bank robbery occurred on Thursday, 8/13 at 9:07 a.m. at the Chevy Chase Bank at 2315 Randolph Road in Glenmont. One male suspect stood in line. Once at the teller’s window the suspect demanded money. He implied he had a gun, but none was seen. He and another male suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Suspects: Two B/M, NFD

• The following residential burglaries were committed by the same suspect who was later arrested:
  • 11700 block of Collegeview Drive in Wheaton on Monday, 8/10 between 8:00 a.m. and 4:12 p.m. No forced entry, property taken.

  • 11700 block of Collegeview Drive in Wheaton on Monday, 8/10 between 8:30 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. Attempted forced entry, not gained, nothing taken.

  • 1900 block of Bluhill Road in Wheaton on Tuesday, 8/11 at 4:15 p.m. No forced entry. Nothing was taken

Arrested: Male, 24 yrs. old, from Glenmont, Maryland.


L2 Beat:

• An armed robbery occurred on Wednesday, 8/12 at 7:17 p.m. on the path behind Einstein High School at 11135 Newport Mill Road in Wheaton. The suspects approached the victim. One suspect displayed a handgun and took personal property from the victim.
Suspects: Three B/M’s, 18-20 yrs. old, 6’–6’2”

• A residential burglary occurred on Friday, 8/14 between 1:00 p.m. and 8:15 p.m. in the 11100 block of Norlee Drive in Wheaton. Forced entry, property taken.

• A commercial burglary occurred between Friday, 8/14 and Monday, 8/17 at Sligo Middle School, 1401 Dennis Avenue in Silver Spring. No forced entry, office ransacked, nothing taken.

• A commercial burglary occurred on Sunday, 8/16 at 2:18 a.m. at the Montgomery Primary Achievement Center, at 10611 Tenbrook Drive in Wheaton. Forced entry, unknown if property was taken.
