Home Invasion Robbery with Related First-Degree Assault

Updated Information

Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division - Robbery Section have been investigating a home invasion robbery and assault that occurred on Wednesday, June 24, in Rockville.

At approximately 2:10 a.m. on June 24, while the 1st District Special Assignment Team officers were conducting surveillance in the area of the 400 block of Elmcroft Boulevard in Rockville, they saw a male and three females get out of a vehicle, a black Hyundai, and enter an apartment building. As that group entered the building, officers observed three men wearing masks get out of a vehicle, a green LeSabre, and run into the same apartment building. Within minutes gunshots were heard and the three masked suspects fled from the apartment building to the rear of the apartment complex. Additional patrol units responded to block the LeSabre suspect vehicle from leaving. One suspect, Alex D. Harris, was seen tossing away a gun and attempting to flee but was taken into custody. Stolen property was found in his possession. One of the two other male suspects who escaped on foot was later identified as Traimne M. Allen. Three females who were at the scene of the robbery were taken into custody: Shavon M. Jackson, Chanel A. Fletcher, and Lazoya S. King.

The investigation revealed that a 23-year-old male victim had suffered a gunshot wound to the upper body and a 29-year-old male victim was stabbed in the arm. A third male was inside the apartment, but hid and escaped injury. It was further determined that the three females had conspired with the three male suspects to rob the victims who were shot and stabbed, of cash and property. Allen was taken into custody yesterday. The final suspect remains at large. A motive for these crimes is under investigation.

The two victims were taken to an area hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The victim of the stabbing has been released. The victim of the shooting remains hospitalized but is expected to survive.

Alex Dwayne Harris, age 19, of an unconfirmed address in Washington, D.C., and Traimne Martinez Allen, 26, of an unknown address, were charged with conspiracy to commit armed robbery, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, use of a handgun in a felony, and armed robbery. Lazoya Suave King, age 21, Shavon Mykia Jackson, age 20, and Chanel Alexandria Fletcher, age 16 (charged as an adult), all of unconfirmed addresses in Washington, D.C. were charged with armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery

Harris and Allen are being held without bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center. Jackson and Fletcher are held on $250,000 bond and King is held on $25,000 bond. The investigation is continuing to identify the final suspect.
