Battery Lane Urban Park Public Meeting - Please join the Montgomery County Department of Parks at a public meeting to discuss a proposed concept plan for Battery Lane Urban Park.  The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, May 5th, 2009 in the 2nd floor conference room at the Bethesda Chevy Chase Regional Services Center, located at 4805 Edgemoor Lane, Bethesda, Maryland.  For more information, please contact Ellen Masciocchi at 301-650-2867 or Ellen.Masciocchi@mncppc-mc.org

Summer Youth Cruiser Passes – The Bethesda-Chevy Chase Regional Services Center is currently selling the Summer Youth Cruiser Passes for $15.  County residents 18 and younger can take unlimited rides on Ride On between June 1 and August 31.  Please bring proof of age (passport, birth certificate or driver’s license permit).  We are open Monday – Friday from 8:30 am – 5:00 pm.

Montgomery County Police Begin 2009 Prom Task Force - On April 15, 2009, the Montgomery County Department of Police will begin its Prom Season Task Force.  Primarily, the police department work to reduce the number of alcohol-related incidents and collisions. Officers will proactively enforce underage drinking laws and apprehend drunk and drugged drivers. Ribbon-Cutting Officially Begins Shuttle Service in Rockville Town Square - A ribbon-cutting ceremony to dedicate the 'Round Rockville shuttles that will operate through Rockville's downtown will take place at noon Saturday, April 18, in Town Square. The ceremony will feature the official unveiling of one of the new buses and an address by Mayor Susan R. Denim Drive for Habitat for Humanity- April 22 - June 15 - Amicus Green Building Center is teaming with Habitat Restore of Montgomery County, Cotton Inc, and National Geographic, to collect used denim (jeans, jackets, etc.) to make into denim insulation for use in Habitat for Humanity homes across the US. Last year, we collected enough used denim to make 75,000 square feet of insulation for use in about 85 Habitat homes in the recovering Gulf Coast. We Want to Hear from Renters in Montgomery County! - The County Executive’s Tenants Work Group is having a series of public meetings to hear from residents who live in rental housing.
