Police Make Arrest for Commercial Burglary in Silver Spring
Montgomery County Police 2nd and 4th District officers have arrested a man for the burglary that occurred at the La Frontera restaurant in Silver Spring on August 3, 2008.
On August 3 at approximately 10:45 a.m., officers from the 4th District were called to the La Frontera restaurant, located at 4217 Randolph Road in Silver Spring, for the report of a burglary that occurred earlier. Preliminary investigation revealed that the building had been forcibly entered and an undisclosed amount of cash had been taken along with other property.
Through the course of the investigation by the 4th District Investigative Section, Robert Michael Eckebrecht, age 46, of the 2800 block of Dawson Lane in Wheaton was developed as a suspect.
Eckebrecht was arrested on August 6, as the result of an arrest warrant and charged with one count of second-degree burglary. At the time of this burglary, Eckebrecht was on probation. He is currently being held on a $500,000 cash bond at the Montgomery County Detention Center.
Eckebrecht may be responsible for several other commercial burglaries in the Silver Spring and Wheaton areas. Anyone with information about these crimes is asked to call the Montgomery County Police 4th District Investigative Section at 240-773-5530. Callers may remain anonymous.
