Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will throw out the ceremonial first pitch kicking off the 10th season of Bethesda Big Train Baseball.
The Bethesda Community Base Ball Club (BCBBC) was established in 1998 to raise money to improve the quality of youth baseball and softball fields in Montgomery County and the District of Columbia. Funds were raised for improvements to the baseball field at Cabin John Regional Park in order to field a summer team of college players (starting in the summer of 1999) called the Bethesda Big Train.
The Bethesda Big Train will also dedicate a new brick garden at the Povich Field entrance to honor the club’s 150 loyal donors who helped raise more than a half million dollars through the annual Base Ball & Auction.
