County Executive, Fire Chief and Council Will Join with Montgomery County Volunteer F

Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett, County Council President Marilyn Praisner, County Fire Chief Tom Carr and Montgomery County Volunteer Fire and Rescue Association President Marcine Goodloe will announce an agreement that is the first of its kind in the nation, providing benefits to volunteer firefighters and emergency medical technicians. The bill will bring consistency and strength to the County’s fire service, and it follows Council Bill 36-03, which took effect in January 2005 to create a more unified command and control structure for the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.
