Weekly Crime Summaries for four of the six county police districts Rockville City, and Takoma Park were published on July 9 and July 12. The crime summaries for the 2nd and 5th police districts were not available this week.

Police are investigating a rape that occurred on July 9 at Green Farm Conservation Park in Gaithersburg. A suspect description and a location map are included.

Since June 14, there have been four late night/early morning residential burglaries of occupied residences in Silver Spring. All of these incidents have occurred at single family homes between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. A map of the incident locations is included.

Police are asking for help in locating a male and female pair of suspects involved in a home repair scan in Olney in mid June. The victim was a 91-year-old Olney man. Police have identified the female suspect by name and are actively searching for her. The male suspect remains unknown.

Seventeen people were rescued by firefighters, police officers and sheriff's deputies from a burning building in Burtonsville on July 13. The blaze caused an estimated $1.5 million worth of damage to the building.

The 2011-2012 fourth grading period honor rolls have been released. A total of 38,968 students made the honor roll this grading period with 8,760 earning straight As

Twenty-seven Montgomery County residents were named 2012 College-sponsored Merit Scholarship Winners in the final round of selections for this years. The twenty-seven students attend nine public schools and six private schools.

The Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District and Bethesda Urban Partnership are accepting applications for Gallery B in downtown Bethesda. Applications are being accpeted from local artists and arts organizations for month-long exhibitions in 2013.
The deadline for submission is August 10, 2012.
