Ride On Launches “Ride On Real Time”; Provides Passengers with Real Time Information on Bus Arrivals
Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett today announced the launch of Ride On Real Time at a demonstration of the County’s new system that allows passengers to obtain real-time information on bus arrivals using the internet, texting, a smart phone or mobile applications (apps) for iPhones or Android phones. The new tools will help passengers determine when the next arriving bus will be at their stop.
“Ride On Real Time takes the uncertainty out of using the bus,” said Leggett. “Bus riders will have greater confidence in the system knowing that they can electronically monitor the progress of their bus. Drivers who want to try transit as an alternative to sitting in traffic will be able to use Ride On Real Time to give them the information they need -- when their bus is coming.”
