Enjoy Music, Dance and Broadway Classics at the Theater
Rockville, Md., Feb. 16, 2012 - Local dancers, concert band musicians, dramatic actors and student performers will entertain audiences at the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at the Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive during March.
To start off the month, the Victorian Lyric Opera Company continues its run with the light-hearted and comic "Die Fledermaus." Shows are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays, Feb. 24 and 25, and March 2 and 3, at 8 p.m. and Sundays, Feb. 26 and March 4, at 2 p.m.
The Rockville Civic Ballet presents "The Odyssey," Saturday, March 10, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, March 11, at 2 p.m. Tickets cost $16 for adults and $12 for seniors older than 60 and children younger than 12. Group rates are available.
The Rockville Concert Band will perform "A Composer Spotlight: In Memoriam of Gordon W. Bowie," Sunday, March 18, at 3 p.m. The song selections will highlight the career of Bowie, a composer and conductor of the Montgomery Village Community Band and a friend of many Rockville Concert Band members. Tickets are not required; a $5 donation is suggested.
The Musical Theater Center will present a "Spotlight on Broadway" Friday, March 23, at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 24, at 2 and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, March 25, at 2 p.m. Tickets will go on sale, Tuesday, Feb 21.
Later in the month, the Home School Talents (HST) will perform "Generations" Friday, March 30, at 7 p.m. and Saturday, March 31, at 2 and 7 p.m. Tickets are only available by calling 240-294-0520.

The F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre at Rockville Civic Center Park named for the celebrated author who often visited Rockville. The 446-seat facility for the performing arts is used by both community theatrical groups and professional touring companies. Besides stage performances, the theater and its Social Hall are available for conferences, seminars and other large meetings.
