Weekly Crime Summaries for all six police districts, Rockville, and Takoma Park were published November 29 to December 2.

Montgomery County Police motor officers are collecting donations from all six police districts, area businesses, and private citizens to purchase gift cards from area stores to assist families residing at the Children’s Inn at NIH.

The motor officer’s “Santa Ride” is scheduled for December 13.

Effective January 1 a new law changes traffic citation trial date procedures. Traffic citations received on or after January 1, 2011 will require the driver to request a trial date if they want one, instead of one being automatically assigned.

Three Montgomery County Public Schools students have won college scholarships from Junior Achievement of the National Capital Area, Inc., totaling $40,000 for essays they wrote about what the Washington area's business community can learn from high school students. Students are from Walt Whitman, Montgomery Blair, and Richard Montgomery high schools.
