| Montgomery County’s Office of Consumer Protection (OCP) has joined a group of federal, state and local government agencies and other national consumer advocacy organizations to launch the 11th annual National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), March 1-7. OCP will host four free showings of the movie “Maxed Out,” an entertaining documentary about credit card debt in America directed by James Scurlock. At the conclusion of the movie, OCP investigators will be on hand to speak about how to choose and use credit cards wisely, how to obtain credit reports and the importance of a credit score. The four showings are scheduled as follows: • Sunday, March 1, 1 to 3 p.m. at the Montclair Apartment Homes Community Room, 3525 Sheffield Manor Terrace, Silver Spring; • Monday, March 2, 10 a.m. to noon at the Bauer Drive Community Center, 14625 Bauer Drive, Rockville; • Tuesday, March 3, 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church, 608 North Horners Lane, Rockville; and • Friday, March 6, 1 to 3 p.m. at the Council Office Building, First Floor Auditorium, 100 Maryland Avenue, Rockville.
