County Executive Leggett Calls for Government-Nonprofit-Business Partnership at Montg

What began as “Community Service Day” in Montgomery County 20 years ago has become a national day of service known as “Make a Difference Day.” Over the years, tens of thousands of Montgomery County residents have joined together for a day each year to enhance the quality of life in the County and demonstrate that one person’s investment of a few hours does have a lasting impact.

This year, the theme of the 21st Annual Montgomery County Community Service Day on Saturday, October 27 is “Working Together.” The intent is to return to the basic roots of the event that was started more than two decades ago by having government workers and elected officials partner with businesses and community groups for a few hours of service to help the nonprofit organizations that work all year round to make this community a better place in which to live.
