Then consider the Summer Adventures in Learning Program!  Twenty-six Title I MCPS elementary schools will offer a free, four-week-long  summer learning opportunity for students in kindergarten through fifth grade  from July 9 to August 2. The program features a four-hour instructional day of  reading, language arts and mathematics. It is designed to reinforce what your  child learned throughout the school year and provide a head start on the  upcoming one. Bus transportation and free breakfast and lunch will be provided. The fair runs 9:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m. on both days as well as from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The budget represents a 2.65 percent increase over the current budget and is less than 0.7 percent above the minimum funding floor required by state law. </p>  <p>The budget is focused on three key areas-managing the district's continued enrollment growth, re-energizing efforts to narrow the achievement gap, and preparing for the future.
