Gallery B's May exhibition, Seven Variations and a Conversation, features seven artists from the Foundry Gallery: Fran Abrams, Nancy Donnelly, Naomi Taitz Duffy, Judy Gilbert Levey, Donna K. McGee, Robert Wiener and Patricia Zannie. 

 

All seven artists contributed to a group piece, the "Conversation," which will be auctioned off during the exhibition. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to Edgemoor Children's Center in downtown Bethesda.

Consider It Done specializes in tabletop and decorative arts. The work of sculptor Judy Sutton Moore whose media is a mix of bronze, wood, stainless, Lucite and minerals will be featured.

"Tunnel Vision" features the work of 12 regional artists whose original works have been printed on a polymetal material, and lines the walls of Metro's Pedestrian Tunnel.

This studio serves as the working studio and gallery space for the following artists who exhibit their work: Natalie Abrams, Iris Elfenbein, Joan Field, Cookie Kerxton, Jane Rostov, Karen Schneider, Sharyl Staren and Gloria Turner.

Fathom, Sculptural Exploration of Another World
The organic visions of glass artist Alison Sigethy and clay artist Liz Lescault speak to each other. Collaborating for the first time, Sigethy and Lescault create enigmatic yet seductive life forms. By developing a form and turning it over to the other to complete, Lescault and Sigethy reacted to and expanded on each other's sculptures.

The 14th annual Bethesda Literary Festival will host an array of local and national authors, journalists and poets, as well as writing and poetry contests. Featured literary guests for 2013 include David Maraniss, Alice McDermott, Chris Bohjalian, Amanda Bennett, Kate Alcott,  Robert Merry and Lynn Povich.

In a weekend that will include more than 20 entertaining events, the Bethesda Literary Festival will present fascinating literary personalities who will read their work, talk about their craft and take part in discussions with other writers and audience members. All of the events are free and are held throughout downtown Bethesda.

The Trawick Prize: Bethesda Contemporary Art Awards is a visual art prize produced by the Bethesda Arts & Entertainment District that honors artists from Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Virginia. March's exhibit features Virginia painters Richard Levine, Agron Pire and Mark Joseph Williams. 

Richard Levine of Arlington, VA is a painter and photographer whose work's foundation is heavily influenced by his extensive travel throughout the United States, Europe and Asia. He has exhibited widely on the East Coast from New York to Massachusetts in both solo and group shows.

Agron Pire of Stone Ridge, VA, was born in Tirana, Albania and from an early age composed portrait and landscape works. He graduated from the School of Art in 1979. Since 1984, he has partaken in numerous exhibitions at the Tirana National Gallery of Art as well as foreign National galleries. One of his paintings is in permanent residence at Tirana's National Gallery. In 2002, Agron immigrated to the United States and in 2006 he opened a solo show at Dulles International Airport. Agron's passion for landscape painting is fuelled by the beauty of Virginia's scenery.

Mark Joseph Williams of Ashburn, VA, has been recognized by peers and industry organizations including the American Society of Marine Artists as a Signature Member. He is also a juried member of Oil Painters of America and the International Guild of Realism. His work has evolved organically over more than a decade into a fluid and contemporary approach depicting nature through the many vivid colors and textures of land, skies and water. Although his work is still anchored in traditional design, he is passionately exploring "echoes" of natural texture, lighting and color elements beyond just strict interpretations of nature.
