The City of Rockville is gearing up for the 29th annual National Night Out. This year's event is scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 7. The night isn't only about fighting crime, it's also about having fun. Events include block parties, cookouts, visits from the Rockville City Police and McGruff the Crime Dog.
Join RBAC every Sunday and Tuesday for a group ride. Meet at Welsh Park on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. for an afternoon 45-minute bike ride, starting near the Rockville Municipal Swim Center. On Tuesday meet at King Farm Homestead Park for a neighborhood ride for about an hour. We ride at the pace of the slowest rider; No one gets left behind.

Don't miss a packed calendar of events in the Rockville Fall Recreation Guide. There are classes for tots, teens, adults and seniors that feature sports, arts, dance, trips and more. Resident registration begins Aug. 9; nonresident registration begins Aug. 16.
Indoor pools and facilities at the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will close periodically during August for repair and maintenance work. Recreational swimming periods will for indoor and outdoor pools will be extended during this time.
Tuesdays, Aug. 7 and 14, 1-2:30 p.m. Irving Berlin's masterpieces will be performed by Crosby, Sinatra, Astaire, Clooney, Garland, Fitzgerald, Jolson and Kate Smith among others. Course No. 39722. Cost is $8, members; $10, residents; $14, nonresidents. Held at Rockville Senior Center.
