Farmers MarketSaturdays, May 12, through Nov. 17, the Farmers Market transforms itself each week as different fruits and vegetables become available throughout the season.The market opens for the season this Saturday and features two new vendors along with fresh flowers for mom.

Attend A Royal Tea Party at Thomas Farm

Saturday, May 12, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. Princesses and their royal family are invited to celebrate Mother's Day at our annual Royal Tea Party event. Dress in your fanciest princess attire. Games and activities will fill the afternoon. Children must come with an adult. A fee applies to each person attending. Pre-registration is required. $10 for City residents and $12 for non-residents. The City of Rockville invites residents to comment on the Fiscal Year 2013 budget. The Mayor and Council are scheduled to hold one work session on May 14. Budget adoption is set for May 21.

Bike to work dayJoin in the fun and fitness Friday, May 18, as the City of Rockville takes part in National Bike to Work Day, 7 to 9 a.m. The City will host two pit stops for riders: one in Town Center and one in Fallsgrove.

Swimming FunThe Swim and Fitness Center is partnering with Montgomery County and the City of Gaithersburg to help you stay safe at the pool or lake this summer. Join us Friday, May 18, 4-7 p.m., for a free water safety day. Learn about water and sun safety, swimming lessons and much more.

Croydon CreekStop by for story time and a hike, on May 19 from 10-11 a.m. Our naturalist will read a story and lead a hike based on the story. Dress for the weather. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Ages 2-5. Preregistration is required. $3 RES / $5 NR.

City Hall with rosesThe Mayor and Council are seeking Rockville residents to serve on a Charter Review Commission. The commission will review the charter and other laws and recommend possible amendments.

Rockville and the American Public Works Association (APWA) are celebrating National Public Works Week Sunday, May 20, to Saturday, May 26. The City will host a free event for the community Thursday, May 24, 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center outdoor pool parking lot, 355 Martins Lane.
