Rockville Musical Theatre will perform "Evita," the musical based on the life of Evita Duarte, an Argentinian actress who eventually became the wife of Argentinian President Juan Perón, with music by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Shows will be held three weekends, beginning July 9. Tickets cost $20, adults; $18, seniors and students.

The newest exhibit will open Sunday, July 11, at Glenview Mansion Art Gallery. Featured artists include Suzanne Donazetti, leafed, painted copper; Lauren Kingsland, art quilts; and Monica Stroik, oil on canvas and wood. An opening reception will be held 1:30-3:30 p.m. A concert will be held at 2 p.m.

Mad Science provides an assortment of fun Sunday, July 11, from 4-6 p.m. at The Rooftop in Rockville Town Square. Program is good for ages 2-12. Cost is $5 in advance, $7 at the door.

There are two more opportunities this summer to catch a local band perform at the Rockin' the City concert series featuring performances on the lawn of the Civic Center Park Wednesday nights, 7-8 p.m. Come out July 14 for The Gift, performing hard rock and metal; and July 21 for Just Soul, performing funk, soul and rock 'n' roll.
